PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid-phase diffusion bonding method for obtaining an iron-base metallic material bonded body having good bonding characteristic and the iron-base metallic material bonded body obtained by the method. ;SOLUTION: In the method for performing the liquid-phase diffusion bonding to two iron-base-metallic materials having mutually different compositions through an insert material, bonded surfaces of the iron-base metallic materials are heated to a temperature not lower than the melting point of the insert material and not higher than the melting point of the iron-base metallic material while interposing the insert material having the intermediate composition of the iron-base metallic materials and added with an element for lowering the melting point into the bonding interfaces between the individual iron-base metallic materials to melt only the insert material. Further, a part of the element for lowering the melting point contained in the molten insert material, is diffused into the iron-base metallic material by isothermally holding the material at the melting temperature, and the melting point of the molten insert material is raised due to reduction in the concentration of the element for lowering the melting point in the molten insert material, and thereafter, the molten insert material is solidified to bond both iron-base metallic materials.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
