PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a silicon steel sheet which enables the reduction in core loss.;SOLUTION: The composition for a silicon steel sheet consists of the general formula of Fe100-x-yCrxAly, and in which ≥5 atomic % chromium(Cr) and ≥5 atomic % aluminum(Al) are added in the range of 10 to 18 atomic % in total. The composition for a silicon steel sheet has a higher electric resistance compared with an iron simple substance on the addition of ≥5 atomic % chromium and ≥5 atomic % aluminum. When the steel sheet is used, e.g. for a stator of a rotary machine, core loss can be reduced because of the high electric resistance thereof.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
