PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for stabilizing a gas hydrate which can stabilize the gas hydrate without an increased rate of ice and also can suppress it from dissociating even at a possibly highest temperature below ice point without an increased rate of ice. ;SOLUTION: The stabilized gas hydrate comprises being covered with an ice shell containing solid fine particles around it. The method comprises a gas hydrate producing process, a separating and dewatering process, a freezing process and a solid fine particle supplying process, wherein the gas hydrate producing process reacts a water raw material and a gas raw material to produce a gas hydrate; the separating and dewatering process separates the produced gas hydrate from the water raw material and the unreacted gas raw material; the freezing process freezes the water around the separated and dewatered gas hydrate; and the solid fine particle supplying process supplies solid fine particles in a water raw material at a stage prior to the separating and dewatering process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
