PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal wire winding means capable of winding a metal wire to the tube outer circumferential surface so as to stick and fix, and to provide an external electrode type fluorescent lamp enhancing light distribution characteristics and light output.;SOLUTION: This metal wire winding method is that a metal wire 14 fed from a nozzle 13d for the metal wire is spirally wound to the outer circumferential surface while the metal wire 14 is rotated along the tube shaft at the set pitch in the tube shaft direction. At the point of time of start 8 and finish 9 of winding of the metal wire 14 to the outer circumferential surface of the tube 11, the metal wire 14 is selectively fixed to the outer circumferential surface by adhesion, or contraction/pressure bonding of a contraction/pressure bonding ring.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
