HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE MODULE, WATER TREATING METHOD AND METHOD FOR PROLONGING SERVICE LIFE OF THE MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module having a hollow fiber membrane whose service life can be prolonged, a method for treating water by using the hollow fiber membrane module and a method for prolonging the service life of the hollow fiber membrane module.;SOLUTION: This hollow fiber membrane module has a plurality of hollow fiber membranes divided in the longitudinal direction. This water treating method comprises a step to filter raw water by using the hollow fiber membrane module. This method for prolonging the service life of the hollow fiber membrane module is accomplished by replacing a hollow fiber membrane module which consists of a membrane formed by bundling N₁ pieces of a hollow fiber having length L₁ and fineness d₁ and has membrane area A₁ by another hollow fiber membrane module which consists of another membrane formed by bundling N₂ (N₂N₁) pieces of another hollow fiber having length L₂ (L₂L₁) and fineness d₂ (d₂=d₁) and has membrane area A₂ (A₂=A₁).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
