PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-modal document transmitting/receiving system in which an interface having optimal modality can be provided corresponding to the modality of each of terminals having a plurality of kinds of modality or the modality desired to use by a user.;SOLUTION: Modality information presenting various kinds of functions of a multi-modal document receiving processor 101 is transmitted to a multi- modal document transmitting device 102 and on the basis of the modality information, a multi-modal document generated by the multi-modal document transmitting device is received. The text data of an audio output object in the multi- modal document are synthesized in voice by an audio synthesizing part 206 and that synthesized output voice is outputted by a voice output part 207.
