PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new DNA encoding a promoter gene of a rice chloroplast liposome protein L11 (OsL11) gene.;SOLUTION: The DNA encoding the promoter of the rice OsL11 gene has a specific base sequence and 1,265 bp size. A DNA fragment DNA-P2 having a specified base sequence and 1,276 bp size is obtained by linking the DNA domain encoding the promoter gene, a DNA domain (cccaagt) of 6 bp for recognition of a restriction enzyme HindIII at the 5' side, and a DNA domain (agagc) of 5 bp for recognition of a restriction enzyme Xbal at the 3' side. A DNA having a specific bass sequence containing the DNA sequence of 1265 bp in the inside, and having other specified base sequence with an exon part to the DNA, and 1803 bp size is obtained as a DNA-P fragment. The DNA encoding the promoter of the OsL11 gene useful for creating a transformed plant as a promoter effective for carrying out the expression of a useful exogenous gene introduced into a plant body is provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
