PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for generating a conversion rule of structured documents, a conversion rule generation program, and a recording medium in which the program is recorded, which generate the conversion rule for efficient conversion of schemes between a lot of structured documents different by schemes. SOLUTION: When a request for conversion rule generation is received, schemes of respective structured documents are acquired from a database, and tag names are extracted from the schemes and are compared, and the correspondence relation between tag names is taken as a conversion rule in the case of coincidence, and the correspondence relation between tag names using synonyms of the tag names is added as a conversion rule in the case of non-coincidence, and thus conversion rules of schemes are generated by a conversion rule automatic generation part 201. The conversion rules are presented to a user to ask the user to confirm and correct them, and conversion rules confirmed and corrected by the user are stored in a conversion rule storage device 204, and schemes are converted between structured documents on the basis of the conversion rules by a conversion part 205.
