METHOD FOR MEASURING LEAD ION CONCENTRATION IN CITY WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for simply and accurately measuring lead ion concentration in city water.;SOLUTION: For city water being added with a complex forming agent susceptible to forming a complex with the cupper ion rather than lead ion or having a pH indicating strong acid, a conductive diamond electrode as a working electrode and a counter electrode are contacted with each other and voltage is applied between the working electrode and the counter electrode for depositing lead on the working electrode. And then voltage is applied between the working electrode and the counter electrode for eluting lead deposited on the working electrode and current value or electricity quantity flowing between both the electrodes is measured, and accordingly the lead ion concentration in city water is calculated from the obtained current value or electricity quantity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
