PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container crane travelling positioning device and a method of positioning container crane travelling capable of stopping the container crane accurately and efficiently.;SOLUTION: A position sensor 25 mounted on the container crane 20 has a prescribed length in the direction in which the container crane 20 travels. The position sensor 25 can detect the position to which magnets 30 positioned oppositely face in the longitudinal direction of the position sensor 25. The container crane 20 is travelled and controlled. A container crane travelling controller 27 to which the detecting output of the position sensor 25 is given is mounted. The container crane travelling controller 27 can be reduced in two stages. The two stages are low speed in the case the distance between the container crane 20 detected by the position sensor 25 and a stop target position is less than a specified value, and middle speed in the case the distance is more than a specified value when the container crane 20 is reduced and controlled from high speed to the state of stop.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
