PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling combustion of a coke oven which can prevent a thermal upward tendency in the oven after construction of the oven in which gas ports and/or air ports are provided in many stages in a combustion flue.;SOLUTION: The refractories 3 are incoporated into the gas ports 1 and air ports 2 provided in many stages in the flue during heating, in other words the operation of the oven, to reduce the opening ratios of the ports. As a result, a temperature distribution which makes the temperature distribution in the height direction of the oven ideal is attained and the thermal upward tendency in the oven can be prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
