PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical window for infrared camera equipped with an inexpensive protecting film having satisfactory transmittance and an infrared camera using this optical window. SOLUTION: In the optical window for infrared camera for transmitting infrared rays radiated from an object, this optical window is provided with an infrared transmitting substrate having a first principal face for making infrared rays incident, a second principal farce confronted to the first principal face for emitting infrared rays and a side face, a reflection preventing film covering the first and second principal faces of the infrared transmitting substrate, and the protecting film composed of polymer materials, which covers the reflection preventing film of the first principal face.
