PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate troublesome wiring works and automate the works of forming of a network between equipment and specifying the location of microphones among a plurality of installing operations of a conference recording system with a plurality of microphones.;SOLUTION: The conference recording system is utilized for recording with use of a plurality of microphones, at least one of which is a master unit 100 and other of which are slave units 200. The master unit 100 and the slave units 200 have speakers 115, 210, radio antennas 113, 208, network communication units, etc., respectively, and form a network among them, using a wireless LAN. The master unit outputs a range detecting sound signal using the speaker 115, and receives the times (timer count values at the slave units) at which the slave units detect the sound signal, thereby calculating the ranges between the master unit and all the slave units.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
