PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pressure fluctuation included in a supersonic airflow by paying attention to the operation efficiency of a compressor in a low Mach number zone requiring a large flow rate, and reduce the pressure fluctuation in an air course in a circular stream type supersonic wind tunnel for acquiring a necessary Mach number.;SOLUTION: An axial compressor 9 is operated with a higher operation efficiency than an operation efficiency determined by the operation state determined theoretically from the Mach number required for a measuring part 19, to thereby reduce the pressure fluctuation in the airflow caused by an inefficient operation. The airflow from the axial compressor 9 is allowed to pass an air course resistor such as a mesh plate 20 installed in the air course, to thereby square the Mach number of the airflow in the air course with the required Mach number. The mesh plate 20 itself has an effect for reducing the pressure fluctuation in the airflow and reducing a noise.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
