PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic meter-reading system capable of sufficiently reducing costs by suppressing costs to be imposed on the meter-reading of a measuring unit such as a power meter, especially, labor costs.;SOLUTION: A host device 11 requests the transmission of a measured value to a terminal station 24, and at the time of receiving the measured value from the terminal station 24, prepares claim information based on the received measured value, and transmits it to the terminal station 24. The terminal station 24 transfers bill information transmitted from the host device 11 to a portable telephone 5 of a user 4 in response to a request from the portable telephone 5. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate any labor to be imposed on the meter- reading work or any labor to be imposed on the mailing of a bill or receipt to the user.
