PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth pressure type small diameter shield boring machine for securing a worker a working space in a boring machine body, and having the constitution for easily performing repair and the replacement of a part.;SOLUTION: This earth pressure type small diameter shield boring machine has the constitution for discharging sediment backward by pressure of the filled sediment by filling the sediment excavated by a cutter head 2 arranged on the tip of the boring machine body 1 in a chamber 3 formed in the rear of the cutter head 2. An earth removal passage 25 for discharging the sediment filled in the chamber 3 backward by earth pressure in the chamber 3 is arranged outside cylindrical shields 5 and 8 of a front part of the boring machine body 1 by recessing the shields 5 and 8 inside to thereby dispense with a screw conveyor conventionally arranged in the boring machine body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
