PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition capable of being used for a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet having well-balanced properties of adhesion, retention of the adhesion, transparency, resistance to outgassing- caused floatation, polymerization ability, and coating performance which are required as the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet to be applied to an outgassing plastic, such as polycarbonate. SOLUTION: This pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is obtained by mixing 0.5-15 pts.wt. of a styrene-based and/or -methylstyrene-based tackifier with 100 pts.wt. of a copolymer which is obtained by colopymerizing 100 pts.wt. of a 1-12C alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer with 0.5-10 pts.wt. of a copolymerizable monomer having a carboxy and/or hydroxy group and has a weight-average molecular weight(Mw) of not less than 500,000 but less than 800,000.
