"CASE FOR MAKING A TEMPORARY CURRENCY OR LONG TERM PROVISION, SET OF TEMPLATES AND METHODS OF LONG-TERM CURRENCY FOR PREMOLARS AND MOLARS". A polycarbonate fiber shell assembly for making premolar and molar crowns (620) with hourglass-shaped occlusal profiles. The mesio distal sidewalls (632, 634) of the casings have a concave shape that mates with the concavity of the occlusal profile. The concavity of the mesal distal sides and occlusal surface of each casing provides substantially uniform proximal clearance in width between the mesio distal side walls of the casing and the adjacent teeth. A new crowning method using such shells provides an optimal fit to a prepared tooth with respect to adjacent and opposing teeth by filling the sheath with a glassy acrylic resin pad and positioning the gingival sheath and occlusal. The resin is extruded to form ideal proximal contacts, with the casing oscillating around the edge of the gingival face for comfortable adaptation to the opposite tooth. The excess resin as well as the shell is shaped to form the final crown.
