"VECTOR, MUTANT DNA SEQUENCE, LINEAR RNA TRANSCRIPTION FROM A VECTOR, COMPOSITION AND METHOD TO PRODUCE A RESPIRATORY SYNCHIC VIRUS RNA VACCINE". A vector comprising a first DNA sequence that is complementary to at least part of an alphavirus RNA genome and having complementary regions of complete replication of alphavirus RNA genomes, a second DNA sequence encoding a paramyxovirus protein, particularly a fusion protein ( RSV F) of respiratory syncytial virus or an RSV F protein fragment that generates antibodies that specifically react with RSV F proteins, the first and second DNA sequences being under the transcriptional control of a promoter are described. Such a vector can be used to produce an RNA transcript that can be used to immunize a host, including a human host, to protect the host from diseases caused by paramyxovirus, particularly respiratory syncytial virus, by administration to the host. RNA transcription can be formed by linearization of the vector through cleavage at a single restriction site in a plasmid vector and then transcription of the linear molecule.
