Two curved pedal bars (13, 13) are pivotally connected (14, 14) at their rear ends to opposite sides of the bicycle frame (1), the front ends (12, 12) having pedals (11, 11) mounted on them. Two long links (16, 16) are pivotally connected to the middle parts (15, 15) of the pedal bars at one end and pivotally connected to two short links (18, 18) at the other end. The short links are connected to the two distal ends of the central shaft for the front drive wheel (5) at the opposite ends to the long links and extend in opposite directions from the central shaft at a distance of more than 180 deg.
