The road vehicle is equipped with a driver compartment and at least one dead or blind angle mirror for the driver permitting sight backwards or to the side. The mirror (2) is fitted inside the driver compartment and on the door post (1) framing the wind screen. It is fitted by means of a support (3) which is adjustable so that it can be placed in a selected position. The mirror has a convex surface. It is effective in the dead angle of the customary rear view mirrors (4,5) on the outside of the vehicle.
