The core comprises a first set of coiled wires which terminate at runners on the outer side and are connected via a wire connection to a second set of external wires or conductors. A relatively dimensionally stable holder (1) is provided for supporting and holding the wire connection, as well as shielding it from the first wires, which preferably comprise copper. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Transformer with the ring core; and (2) Holder for the ring core.
