The installation for milking a cow is provided with a box (2) which has a horizontal flat floor (4) on which an animal can stand. The floor has devices for creation of wobbling movement of at least part of it. A presence detector (12) is incorporated for detection of the presence of an animal in the box. The detector can emit a presence signal, with the aid of which the wobbling devices are at least partly controlled. When the presence signal indicates that there is no animal in the box, the wobbling devices are so controlled that the floor adopts a mainly horizontal rest position. The box has an exit and a device for producing a drive-out signal which controls the wobbling devices so that an animal moves towards the exit.
