The pipe connection is provided by a coupling flange (32) integral with the pipe wall (12) of each pipe section (10), having an outwards projecting annular edge (14) and a clamping device (34) securing the annular edges of the abutting coupling flanges together in the axial direction. A reinforcing ring (47) of sheet metal is at the end of each pipe section, extending along the radially inner part of each annular edge. An Independent claim for a manufacturing method for an abutting pipe connection is also included.
