A pet food composition for enhancing immune response in a companion animal comprises a combination of vitamin E, lutein and beta-carotene. The pet food composition can be used to in the manufacture of a pet food product to enhance the immune response of the animal, optimizing immune cells and vaccine recognition in a dog.
