A printed circuit board (10) carries circuits for a transmitter portion (24) and a receiver portion (34) of the electronic circuitry of a mobile phone and the circuit board also acts as the ground plane for the phase inverted F antenna with a radiating element (20) spaced from the circuit board. The feeding portion (22) is connected to the feeding element of the transmitter portion and the radiating element functions as the transmitting antenna.
