The car park (2) has at least two levels (9, 10) for drivers to drop off and pick up their vehicles (4, 41). Transport devices are provided for transferring vehicles between a parking level (3-3n) and the drop-off or pick-up level. The parking spaces (14-16) in each level are arranged in pairs at an angle to each other. A vehicle lift with two decks is located in the centre of the car park and contains at least two interconnected vehicle-carrying surfaces located at different levels. The vehicle orientation and transport direction in the lift is at an angle between the two vehicle-carrying surfaces.
