The voltage source convertor current rectifier is of the three level type with four series-coupled current valves (3-6) and two units connected on the one hand between a point between one outer valve (3) in a series coupling and the nearest inner valve (4) and on the other hand a point between the other outer valve (6) in the series coupling and the nearest inner valve (5). A central point between the two units is connected to a zero potential defined by capacitors series-coupled between the pole conductors (16,17) in the rectifier direct voltage side. The four current valves and the two units (21,22) are arranged above each other in upper (25) and lower (26) floors, with at least two of their six parts in each of the floors.
