The limiter has two inductors connected in series with one another, and two electrically-operated main valves (3, 4) bridging the inductors. Two auxiliary valves (7, 8) are connected in series with the main valves, where a common potential point of branches of the valves (7, 8) are connected with a common potential point of the inductors. The valves (7, 8) are bridged by a protective circuit for limiting current when fault occurs.
