The machine has a plug housing attached to the machine housing to accommodate a connecting plug (11). The plug housing has connecting contacts connected to the start and end of field winding wires in a stator plate packet and sprung latching tongues that latch behind latching protrusions on the plug housing in shape-locking manner when the connecting plug is inserted into the plug housing. The sprung latching tongues (21,22) are enclosed by a screen (26) that prevents the unlatching of the latching tongues by hand without a tool to pull the plug from the housing.
