The automatic manipulator for plates of glass comprises a main carriage moving on a rail and carrying a tipping table with rectractable suction units. The carriage is provided with wheels. In the vertical position of the table a plate of glass can be withdrawn by the suction units from the support devices, permitting the manipulation, loading and transport of the plates of glass without the intervention of operatives. The rail on which the main carriage moves is transversal in relation to the rails on which the support devices move.
