VEHICLE AIR CONDITIONER WITH AUTOMATICAL SELECTION OF FOOT MODE AND FOOT/DEFROSTER MODE

In a vehicle air conditioner where a foot mode and afoot/defroster mode can be set, when a target temperature of airblown into a passenger compartment is higher than a predeterminedtemperature, the foot mode is selected. However, even if thetarget temperature of air is higher than the predeterminedtemperature, the foot/defroster mode is selected in place of thefoot mode when an outside air temperature is lower than apredetermined temperature and when a vehicle speed is higher thana predetermined speed. In the vehicle air conditioner, becausethe foot/defroster mode can be suitably automatically selectedbased on a fog-generation condition of a windshield, bothfog-preventing performance of the windshield and heatingperformance of the passenger compartment are improved duringheating operation.
