A use of dithiocarbamate compounds of structural formula R1R2NC2H, where R1and R2 independently = straight- or branched-chain C1-C4 alkyl, or togetherwith the nitrogen atom form an aliphatic ring with 4 to 6 atoms, in which R1,R2 or the aliphatic ring are optionally substituted with several substituentsselected from OH, NO2, NH2, COOH, SH, F, Cl, Br, I, methyl or ethyl, oxidisedforms of the above compounds, in particular dimers thereof andpharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof for the production of an agent forthe treatment of prevention of an infection by RNA viruses which affect therespiratory tract and cause disease is disclosed and also a disinfecting agentcomprising a dithiocarbamate compound and a method for disinfection ofsurfaces, media and cell cultures.
