A rat bombesin receptor subtype-3 has been isolated, cloned and sequenced.This receptor is characteristic of the G-protein family of receptors.Isolation of rat bombesin receptor subtype-3 may be used to screen andidentify novel bombesin receptor modulators that may contribute to theregulation of endocrine processes, metabolism, or the cell cycle. Suchcompounds may be used in the treatment of conditions that result fromderegulated expression of bombesin receptor subtype-3.
