Described is a method for diagnosing a neoplasia by determining whether thelevel of one or more NF-AT transcription factor(s) is reduced. Moreover,methods for screening compounds which activate an NF-AT or which mimic thefunction of NF-AT are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for the preventionor treatment of neoplasias by increasing the activity of an NF-AT.
