A high-pressure steam sterilization device (41) and a high-pressure steam sterilization method, the device comprising a chamber (42) for storing medic al equipment such as an endoscope, a steam feeding device (43), a vacuum pump (44), and a control part (45), wherein the steam feeding device (43) feeds steam into the chamber (42), the vacuum pump (44) depressurizes the inside o f the chamber (42), and the control part (45) controls the steam feeding devic e (43) and the vacuum pump (44); the method comprising a first depressurizing step having a step for depressurizing the inside of the chamber (42), a high - pressure steam sterilizing step for pressurizing the inside of the chamber (42), and a second depressurizing step having a step for depressurizing the inside of the chamber (42), whereby, even if high-pressure steam sterilizati on is performed, the internal parts of the medical equipment can be prevented from being deteriorated by moisture since the medical equipment stored in th e chamber is sterilized by high-pressure steam.
