The analysis method involves representing the amplitudes of the frequency spectrum as a function of a frequency variable. A flank or edge of the frequency curve representing the frequency spectrum is approximated by a straight line. A frequency variation function is selected to matches the line, for determining the frequency at the zero point of the function. The linear function for matching the frequency spectrum can be provided by an algorithm for matching a straight line to a curve.
