Non-toxic glass chips with a borosilicate base, devoid of any lead, cadmium, zinc and barium based constituents, have the following molar content: (a) 15 to 60 % of SiO2; (b) 10 to 30 % of B2O3; (c) 0.1 to 20 % of A2O and/or of AF, A representing an alkaline metal; (d) 0.1 to 30 % of Nb2O5; (e) they are also essentially devoid of any aluminum, bismuth and cobalt based constituents.
