A protein Slingshot which is isolated from fruit-fly and has an effect of regulating the excessive polymerization of actin in fruit-fly epithelial cells or cells wherein it is co-expressed with LIM kinase, thereby regulating the excessive increase in actin filaments. This protein Slingshot has a catalytic domain homologous with the catalytic domain of phosphatase. It induces morphological abnormality in the seta and hair of a variant individual.
