The invention relates to the use of polyisobutene and polyisobutene derivatives as substitute for raw, purified and optionally chemically modified wool fat and wool fat mixtures in preparations, especially in stuffing agents, for the production of leather. The invention also relates to preparations, more particularly stuffing agents, containing polyisobutene and/or polyisobutene derivatives and the use thereof in the production of leather. The invention further relates to a method for the production of said preparations leather produced using said preparations.
