A quick-drying plaster or coating composition contains (i) a binder in the form of an aqueous polymer dispersion or a water-redispersible polymer powder; and (ii) an organic precipitating agent optionally in combination with an inorganic precipitating agent. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) precipitation agent concentrates for use in preparing the plasters or coatings, such concentrates comprising (wt.%) organic precipitation agent (10-90) and inorganic precipitation agent (0-60); and (ii) preparation of the plastering or coating compositions by mixing the required components.
