An agent for the control of codling moth comprises specific amounts of cyfluthrin, 2-ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenyl-2-propenate, 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone, butylhydroxytoluene, castor oil ethoxylate (average degree of ethoxylation = 30), E,E-8,10-dodecadienol, partially hydrophobic silica gel and castor oil. The agent comprises: (a) 4 wt.% cyfluthrin; (b) 7.5 wt.% 2-ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3,diphenyl-2-propenate; (c) 7.5 wt.% 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone; (d) 0.2 wt.% butylhydroxytoluene; (e) 0.5 wt.% castor oil ethoxylate (average degree of ethoxylation 30); (f) 0.1 wt.% E,E-8,10-dodecadienol; (g) 5 wt.% partially hydrophobic silica gel; and (h) 75.2 wt.% castor oil. Independent claims are also included for: (A) the preparation of the agent; and (B) a dosage dispenser comprising: (i) a cylindrical container with a tightly fitting, vertically displaceable base member at its lower end; (ii) a headpiece tightly fixable to the upper end of the container and consisting of (a) a tightly fixable cover with a lateral opening through which extends a bent lever (movement of the lever is limited axially by a projection on the outside of the cover and vertically by the cylindrical container) and (b) a fitted piston pump with inlet and outlet poppet valves (the lever is connected via an abutment to the pump in order to dispatch substance, the upper part of the pump is hermetically sealed in the cover housing and the lower part of the pump is connected hermetically with the cylindrical container); (iii) a vertically movable, but tightly fitted, tube-like nozzle mounted vertically in the headpiece (the nozzle has its lower end inserted in the pump and has a horizontal wall extension about half way along its length);and (iv) a closure cap which can be placed over the opening of the nozzle. - ACTIVITY : Insecticide. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
