The temperature measuring method uses optical detection of the energy band gaps of solid-state elements, using light sources (1), coupled via optical fibres (3) to solid-state measuring probes (5) and a wavelength-sensitive detection system, receiving the modified optical signals from the solid-state measuring probes, for converting them into electrical signals from which the temperature is calculated. An Independent claim for a temperature measuring device is also included.
