The invention relates to a roll stand, especially a duo or quarto roll stand, comprising bending and balancing devices (7) for axially displaceable rollers (4, 5). A fixed guide block (6) is retained on both sides in the window (1) of each roller stand (2) on the same level as the roller inserts (3). The force of the bending cylinders (8) is transmitted to the roller inserts (3), which are guided along the direction of the axis in a vertically displaceable manner. The length of the bending cylinders (8) on the upper and lower piston end is respectively greater than the width thereof and the longitudinal axis of the bending cylinders extends in the direction of axial displacement of the rollers (4, 5).
