In the present invention, the pilot symbol region and the control symbol region are time-divided, so that the pilot symbol and the control symbol are time-divided to maximize the performance of the receiver when searching for signals or measuring SIR using a direct sequence spread signal. The present invention relates to a method for optimally searching a DS-CDMA signal and a device therefor, and furthermore, when a receiver searches for the above-mentioned signal, it basically uses both energy of a pilot symbol and a control symbol, but coherent integration of two regions is performed. The present invention proposes a method of maximizing the searcher's performance by varying the lengths and adding weights to two parts when the coherent correlation value is finally added noncoherently, and relates to an effective SNR estimation method for each search path.
