PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to discriminate a modulation mode in a communication system by multiplying a received signal by a hamming weight. CONSTITUTION: A signal generator(100) generates a random signal, and modulates the random signal into a PSK signal and outputs a signal receiver(200). The signal receiver(200) receives the modulated PSK signal from the signal generator(100), eliminates a carrier signal of the modulated PSK signal and outputs a corresponding phase information signal to a modulation mode discrimination section(300). The modulation mode discrimination section(300) receives the phase information signal from the signal receiver(200), adds a hamming weight to the phase information signal and outputs a corresponding result signal to a manager.
