Menu exploring method using co-occurrence similarity dictionary and cellular phone employing the same

PURPOSE: An intelligent type menu searching method using a co-occurrence similarity dictionary and a portable phone adopting the same are provided to offer a result suitable for a meaning and example of a retrieval word to a user using a co-occurrence similarity method. CONSTITUTION: A menu tree DB(232) stores a menu structure of a portable phone. A co-occurrence similarity DB(231) stores words in which a menu tree of the portable phone is composed and words similar to the words. A menu searcher(310) retrieves a word name about a menu received by a user from the co-occurrence similarity DB(231), compares the retrieved word name with the menu structure stored in the menu tree DB(232), and detects the retrieved result. In case that a plurality of results are detected in the menu searcher(310), a retrieved result arranger(320) arranges the detected results in sequence in which a co-occurrence similarity with a retrieval word is high. A menu display outputter(330) displays the results detected in the menu searcher(310) or displays the results arranged in the retrieved result arranger(320) through a display unit of the portable phone.
