1 THE METHOD OF VERIFYING IRIS BASED ON MULTIPLE 1D IRIS CHARACTERISTICS

PURPOSE: A method for verifying an iris based on a multiple one dimensional iris characteristic is provided to offer an algorithm extracting and verifying a characteristic from the iris and an reliable iris verification method by using the iris characteristic extracted from the iris information located within a specific radius from an iris's center. CONSTITUTION: The radius of an internal and an external border of the iris is obtained from an iris image and a noise part is removed(S10). After deciding the radius for extracting a characteristic value by using the radius of the internal and the external border of the iris, the iris information within the decided radius is extracted as the characteristic(S20). The identification is confirmed by measuring the similarity between two irises(S30).
