PURPOSE: An automatic deviation compensator is provided to compensate the deviation of driving motors by gearing with the upper parts of the driving motors. CONSTITUTION: An upper driving unit(30) moves the upper part of a tongs portion(50) leftward and rightward by an upper screw bar to be connected with a driving motor(33) on an upper beam(32). A lower driving unit(70) comprises a driving motor(74) and a lower screw bar to move the lower part of the tongs portion leftward and rightward. A pair of supporting blocks(90) has an independent driving motor(91) to adjust the height by fixing in the left side of a lower beam(72). A tong key cylinder(112) is fixed under the upper beam. A tong key case(114) is fixed on the lower beam to accept and fix the tong key cylinder. A pair of detecting plates is fixed to face each other by inserting a flexible rotating cable(121) for compensating the height deviation of the supporting blocks. The flexible rotating cable is geared with a beveled gear of the driving motor of the supporting blocks. A pair of housings has a bearing to accept and fix the detecting plates to be rotatable. Power portions comprises link fixing plates, power contact plates and touch bars by fixing in recessed portions of the detecting plates. An operation varying unit comprises the link fixing plates, vertical links, horizontal links and touch stop bars. The operating varying unit is formed another recessed portions of the detecting plates. An automatic deviation compensator transfers steel slabs of various lengths and compensates the height deviation of the supporting blocks to control the amount of the slabs at the same time. Thereby, the uniform steel slabs are detected by uniformly maintaining the height of the supporting blocks.
