A method for manufacturing as-cast strip of high quality by twin roll strip casting process

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing cast strip of high quality in twin roll strip casting process is provided to improve quality of cast strip by measuring widthwise temperature distribution of cast strip and shot blasting the surface of casting rolls corresponding to a part showing non-uniformed solidification of cast strip. CONSTITUTION: In twin roll continuous casting process for manufacturing cast strip by rapidly solidifying molten steel through contact of molten steel of high temperature supplied between a pair of casting rolls(40) with the casting rolls, the method for manufacturing cast strip of high quality comprises a step of continuously measuring widthwise temperature distribution of cast strip flowing off a nip of the casting rolls; a step of comparing the measured widthwise temperature distribution of cast strip with the average temperature of the cast strip after obtaining an average temperature of cast strip by averaging the measured temperature distribution values; and a step of judging a region higher than the average temperature in the measured widthwise temperature distribution of cast strip as a non-uniformed solidification region of cast strip, and shot blasting the surface of the casting rolls corresponding to the region.
